Governors’ Statement

The Governing Body at St Florence School is committed to fostering a school environment where every child is inspired to “Believe, Achieve, and Succeed Together.” We work in close partnership with our dedicated staff, engaged parents, and the community, championing our shared vision through active involvement in school life and a strong commitment to each child’s development.

In alignment with the Curriculum for Wales and our current priorities, we place a particular focus on literacy, especially developing reading comprehension skills, which form the foundation of lifelong learning. Our governors are actively engaged in these efforts, from reading with students and supporting literacy projects to monitoring progress through constructive feedback and volunteer initiatives. This hands-on involvement allows governors to stay connected with the day-to-day life of the school and witness the impact of our initiatives.

We believe that by supporting, encouraging, and engaging in these programs, the Governing Body contributes to an educational experience that nurtures confident, capable learners. Together, we are committed to providing our children with the skills and inspiration needed to thrive within our school community and beyond.

– Mr Samuel Kiley, Vice Chair of Governors
